Having a swimming pool can provide relaxation, lots of fun, and a great place to get together and enjoy the outdoors. It can also be a problem when your pool liner doesn’t seem to be holding up its end of the bargain. There are several signs you can look for that will tell you that pool liner replacement may be your best option for keeping your pool in good shape.
- Deterioration – Does your liner have stains, fading colors, tears, and other deterioration that seem to be affecting your pool? In fact, algae, UV rays, pool chemicals and other environmental factors can wear down your pool lining, causing you to need a replacement.
- Cracks – If you can see holes or tears in your pool liner, this is an obvious warning sign that you are going to have problems with your pool. Pool liner replacement is essential to prevent water loss and ensure the safety of your water and the pool itself.
- Stretching & Wrinkles– Over time, vinyl pool liners can begin to lose their elasticity, causing them to stretch. When this occurs, the liner edging may come loose from its fitting on the edge of the pool or around the skimmer and the pump. Additionally, you may begin to notice wrinkles in the liner where water has seeped in between the pool and the liner itself. A stretched liner cannot be repaired, so pool liner replacement will be your only solution.
- Water Loss – Your pool should be able to maintain its capacity for water with only minimal evaporation over time. If you notice that you are losing water more rapidly than normal and/or your liner is damaged, pool liner replacement may be the best choice for restoring your pool.
